This book derives from the Jornada de Homenaje al Profesor Eduardo Rojo Torrecilla that took place at the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de Girona on 9 November 2023, in which current issues in Labour Law, Social Security and Immigration were presented and debated. However, this publication includes a number of papers that were not presented at the conference. In addition to the initial paper by Professor Eduardo Rojo Torrecilla in which he reflects on his time at the University of Girona (1992-2007) and on the branch of law to which he has dedicated his professional life, this collective work is divided into four main thematic blocks: the first aims to analyse, through various studies, the new and old issues of Labour Law and Social Security that are still under debate; the second is concerned with Employment policies; the third includes papers on immigration and questions of labour interest in the field of foreigners; and the fourth and lastly, includes two papers on immigration and questions of labour interest in the field of foreigners; and the fourth and last one incorporates two studies on employment in the care sector, based on the fact that the Department of Labour Law and Social Security of the University of Girona has been awarded a Horizon Europe research project (2023-2025), Care4Care, Cuidemos a las personas que cuidan, directed by Professor Ferran Camas Roda. This work is prefaced by Professor Ferran Camas Roda, Professor of Labour and Social Security Law at the University of Girona, and by Mr. Francesc Castellana, President of the Economic and Social Council of Barcelona. També, o alhora, va sepultar carreres professionals que estaven en el seu apogeu. Currículums truncats, temporalment o de manera definitiva, en alguns casos desviats cap a altres terrenys, en el sentit professional o en lestrictament geogrfic. Així doncs, a lacabament de la Guerra Civil van ser molts els ciutadans expulsats del seu entorn familiar i professional per la via de lexili o les diverses formes de repressió, que van incloure des de la presó (o la mort) fins a la depuració professional, la inhabilitació o el desterrament, o també un cctel dramtic daquestes diverses fórmules de revenja oficial. Emili Blanch (1897-1996) va ser una de les víctimes que responen a aquest perfil. Responsable de les construccions de la Generalitat de Catalunya a Girona durant la República i destacat representant de larquitectura racionalista, va viure la repressió i lexili acabada la Guerra Civil. El seu cas, un de tants, és un testimoni particular carregat dintensitat personal, per alhora resulta paradigmtic dun perfil de professional brillant víctima de la repressió total i sistemtica del rgim victoriós. Un cas abocat a lxode i a loblit que en aquest treball pretén ser ressituat en la Histria, en el lloc destacat que ben segur hauria assolit sense la mediació nefasta de quaranta anys de dictadura. 0
